They\u2019re also more likely to switch brokerage firms more frequently, and they\u2019re less likely to be financially healthy than more experienced investors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a investor that is younger, earns a lower income and is more racially diverse than any investment cohort the industry has seen.<\/p>\n<p>Fintech platforms like Robinhood Markets Inc. and the payments giant PayPal Holdings Inc., which have released plans to offer retail trades, are catering to exploding demand for online accounts with no investment minimums.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rixtrema.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/2img.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" Pro Financial Advice is Here to Stay<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today, DIY investors are reaching thresholds that are starting to make professional financial advice more appealing.<\/p>\n<p>As self-directed investors have been experiencing the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investmentnews.com\/advisers-ponder-systemic-risks-to-markets-as-gamestop-spins-out-of-control-201984\">ups and downs of the financial markets<\/a>, the more established financial planning industry is starting to catch some of the fallout in the form of investors realizing there are limits to what can be gleaned from most&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investmentnews.com\/robinhood-is-snapping-up-financial-advisers-heres-why-205794\">trading apps and digital platforms.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve found that some of the early adopters of Robinhood are moving on to more stable and legacy systems like Fidelity and Schwab,\u201d said Scott Smith, director of advice relations at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cerulli.com\/\">Cerulli Associates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rixtrema.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/3img.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-2\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-9889\" src=\"https:\/\/rixtrema.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/3img-750x330.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"577\" height=\"254\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a wealth advisor at Bridgewater Advisors, Ian Harvey is not surprised that self-directed investors eventually come around to the notion of wanting some help. \u201cThis speaks to the importance of defining the interconnectedness of our clients\u2019 lives and their investments,\u201d he said. \u201cWhile many can invest on their own, how those investments tie to their ability to achieve goals, are weaved into tax and estate planning, and pair with proper risk management tools are important considerations not yet handled in concert on digital platforms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jamie Ebersole, founder of Ebersole Financial, said the growing appeal of human advisors could be a sign of investors becoming more concerned with stock market valuation levels. \u201cWe are seeing more and more younger clients coming to us looking for advice specifically related to today\u2019s market conditions,\u201d he said. \u201cWhile many DIY investors are comfortable investing with minimal advice while the markets and the economy are performing well, in times of turbulence and uncertainty, like today, they are looking for someone to provide insights and guidance so as to avoid making big mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thus, there has been a significant increase in new clients seeking help with portfolio decisions as the pandemic has unfolded and the economy has moved through its various phases of recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Some advisors may argue that a large number of DIY investors aren\u2019t looking for professional advice yet and wouldn\u2019t make for profitable clients. While that\u2019s still true, the situation is changing quickly and there should be a wake-up call for advisors that have heard a lot about the coming wave of next-gen investors but have yet to take meaningful steps to address them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"main-investing-themes\"><\/a>Main Investing Themes<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/s32566.pcdn.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/the-great-accelerationvf-en-us-stamped.pdf\">BlackRock\u2019s&nbsp;research<\/a>, the asset manager says the new consumer, an industrial renaissance and medical innovation are areas where changes have exposed &#8216;underestimated investment opportunities.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rixtrema.com\/blog\/some-straight-talk-about-blackrocks-sustainability-investing\/\">BlackRock<\/a> is homing in on three themes that it describes as \u201cpermanent transformations unlocking exponential growth opportunities\u201d that could give financial advisors new<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investmentnews.com\/alternatives-become-bigger-slice-of-client-portfolios-as-advisers-seek-shelter-220386\">&nbsp;diversification plays.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new consumer area recognizes millennials as \u201cmajor spenders driving the global economy,\u201d coupled with the increasing spending power from developing markets.
